Below are some frequently asked questions and answers about trainDAVINCI Training program courses.
The Culinary Experience
We try our best to accommodate for special dietary requirements. Please email us if you would like to know whether your allergy can be accommodated on a particular course. It is the client’s or student’s responsibility to inform us of any dietary requirements at least three (3) days before the course or this can be done at point of booking. TrainDAVINCI will make every attempt to accommodate your food allergies and sensitivities.
The Culinary Lab has a maximum of 12 per course, with 2 people per workstation so you will be working in pairs. There will be a second chef on hand to assist and give you the coaching that you may need.
There will be one main instructor and an assistant at any one time on courses. Please see the Trainer’s Biographies for more information and their individual backgrounds.
All culinary courses start at 9:00am and finish times are estimated at 5:00pm however, it will depend on the course selection and content of the session, please check the courses page for each individual course.
There are summaries of the courses on the website but if you would like more information please call either the school directly or the instructor and we will happily talk you through the details of the course.
You may rebook any course if your schedule demands it. The cost of the program will be credited to you for a future booking. If you require a refund, please contact the school directly and speak with the administrator.
We do offer courses for children and families, mostly during school holidays. The children’s sessions are split into two categories; 5-8 year olds and 8-12 year olds. We also offer team-building programs as well.
If you are new to industry, attending the preliminary level culinary courses are recommended such as; A Lemon Is Not A Lemon 2-day. The instructors will ensure that you have the assistance required to enjoy the program and learn new skills. Please contact us if you would like further guidance.
Absolutely! The instructors will ensure that you have the assistance required to enjoy the day and really develop your cooking/catering skills. If you are an experienced onboard chef, you may particularly enjoy the some of the more detail focused courses that we offer as part of a flight attendant/flight technician focused elite level programs. Please contact us if you would like further guidance.
There will be an opportunity to eat all the dishes that you make. All students sit down together after each session to eat. The food is matched with wine and non-alcoholic beverages and the chefs will also prepare some accompaniments.
You will receive a certificate of competition, and a certification certificate for the programs that offer a certified certificate. Contact the school for more information on those courses as we are always adding more qualified classes to the list.
Please wear comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes (no flip-flops or open toed shoes). An apron will be provided. You will be expected to dress as business professionals with your hair restrained at all times (if applicable).
We will provide you with the recipes for each dish from the course as well as numerous notes and tidbits of helpful information. We will provide you a trainDAVINCI notepad and pen if you would like to take more detailed notes.
We have a showroom in which you can purchase many of the aircraft friendly tools you will use in class. Each class provides you with your personal set of the tools needed for the course work on the day included in the course fee. Additional tools may be purchased from the school or online through Airware. (www.myairware.com) Your trainDAVINCI apron used during class is also yours to keep.
Payment can be made in cash, check or credit card. The administration office will accept your class payment and provide you with a receipt. Payment in full is required prior to attending any scheduled course.
Service Nouveau
Course size maximum is 12 per class and is conducted in the trainDAVINCI main classroom, innovation room and “hangar.”
There will be one main instructor and an assistant (if applicable) and all trainers are experience cabin crewmembers and inflight service and cabin safety experts. Please see the Trainer’s Biographies for more information and their individual backgrounds.
Course start time is 9:00am every day and finish time is dependent on each individual class. Estimated time of completion each day is 5:00pm but we recommend always planning for as late at 6:00pm.

Yes, the “Intro to Corporate Aviation” is specifically designed for those new to business aviation or “expired” with currency training (more than two years since cabin safety/emergency procedures training). This 3-day intensive training program along with the 8 hour Embry-Riddle online pre-course home study will fully prepare you and provide you with training records to begin your career as a business aviation cabin crewmember.
Yes, the Elite Training program is specifically designed for crewmembers and personnel requiring recurrent training. Eligibility for recurrent training is having attended training within the past 24 months specific to business aviation cabin safety. Please contact the school or administrator directly for more information on eligibility.
Upon successful completion of both online and in class training you will receive a trainDAVINCI certificate of competition and record of training stating you have met all applicable CFRs – 91, 135 and 125, Canadian CAR Ops, European JAR Ops/EUOPS standards, IS-BAO and WE-CARE requirements, and Gulfstream G550 Evacuation Crewmember (G550 EC).
There is no FAA certification for business aviation cabin safety training. Period. Although some other training companies may conduct their training programs in FAR 142 facilities, these have nothing to do with cabin safety certification. All of trainDAVINCI’s cabin safety and emergency procedures training meet the FAR/CFR requirements.
Please wear comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes (no flip-flops or open toed shoes). You will be expected to dress as business professionals. Part of your training also includes water survival training, which is conducted in a local pool, using real life vests and life raft. You will be required to wear a long sleeved shirt and long pants (swimwear can be worn underneath clothing). No shoes or socks. Facility will provide towels and bags for change of clothing and wet clothing storage.
